Hello world!
May 18th, 2008
Oh hey hi!
I’ve been a fan of the Boston Red Sox for about 30 years. I was born and brought up in Boston. I am the daughter of an Irish Catholic born Mom and a crusty Bostonian Dad. As a kid I was a competitive Irish dancer and I hated every minute of it.
I spend more time watching, reading and crying over, although not in recent years, the Red Sox more than anything else.
I can credit being a Red Sox fan to giving me the ability to deal with defeat, disappointment and the thought ‘there’s always next year’.
The Red Sox have won the world series 2 times in my lifetime. Something I’m still learning to handle. I’m not one of those pain in the ass Sox fans that throw it in your face, not by a long shot! I still have realizations from time to time that usually end in “Oh my Gawd, the Red Sox are World Champions! WOOO HOOO!
I know the Red Sox fans have earned themselves the title of the most obnoxious fans in sports. Let me clear that up for you. Those obnoxious fans, yeah well, they’re what we call ‘Pink Hats”. They jumped on the bandwagon back in October of 2004, right about the same time the Red Sox came back from a huge deficit to the NY Yankee’s and went on to sweep the St Louis Cardinals in the 2004 World Series. We tried getting rid of them but nothing has worked, so we’re all stuck with them.
Another one of my loves is food, dessert mostly. I love reading cookbooks and watching the food channel. However, I never cook or bake, EVAH! I guess I just like looking at food. Go figure.
I am by trade a Esthetician/Makeup Artist. I don’t currently work as that but I am still in the industry.
So to sum it up, what you will see here is mostly the Red Sox, food and shenanigans. I am by no means a writer so please allow me to apologize now for my bad grammar, run on sentences, horrible spelling and poor word choices.
Thanks for stopping by and GO RED SOX!
